Navien tankless water heaters recalled


The firm named above in cooperation with The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of the product sold between February 2008 through March 2009 under the name: Navien Instantaneous or Tankless Water Heater.
The reason of the recall is that an unstable connection of the water heaters went collar can cause it detach when pressure is applied on it. Detached vent poses risk of carbon monoxide buildup and poisoning to the consumer. Approximately 13,000 appliances were sold from the recalled products nationwide.
Owners should stop using the recalled products immediately and contact Navien for a free replace of the faulty part. All Nylon 66 vent collars will be replaced by PVC collars. Consumers who continue to use their water heaters until the replace is taken place are advised to have an enabled carbon monoxide sensor and alarm in their home.
Recalled model numbers are: CR-180(A), CR-210(A), CR-240(A), CC-180(A), CC-210(A) and CC-240(A) manufactured in 2008.
