The lightweight liquid propane gas fueled tankless water heater generating 1.4 gallon of hot water per minute. The Eccotemp’s appliance doesn’t try to compete in throughput with tankless gas heaters designed to provide hot water for the whole house (like the Rinnai tankless water heaters) but rather focuses on the aspect of portability, ease of use and being able to set the shower up anywhere – anytime.

The water heater comes with a shower head and adapters required to attach any standard garden hose nozzle and propane tank.
The shower head nozzle wasn’t sealed with great care, produced minor leaking which can be fixed with plumbing fittings but still poses an inconvenience. It is possible though that we received a faulty model and the sealings work well for everyone else.
After turning the tap the heater is able to deliver hot water within seconds. Knobs available to adjust the desired water temperature and the level of spraying water pressure. The selectable temperature ranges from 80 to 150 degrees of Fahrenheit. The flow rate is adjustable from .5 gallons per minute up to 1.4 gallons per minute.
The Eccotemp tankless water heater’s flame is ignited by battery (two D-cell batteries aren’t included with the product), which might make it a handy backup water source in case electricity is not available like during camping or blackout.
For operation the tankless water heater unit requires at least 20 PSI of input water pressure up to a maximum of 100 PSI and is rated for outdoor use only which leads us to another design problem associated to this outdoor shower: the flame which is used to heat the water can be blown out even by a moderate breeze and weaker winds giving you a stream of cold water in your face. Turning the unit off and on again relights the flame and ready to continue after the major inconvenience.
